I just called O2 to cancel my contract with them.
Mostly because of poor customer service and crap tariffs.

Once again their customer service was awful. Got passed around a lot ( I suspect to make them money ) kept getting asked the same questions. Kept insisting that all I wanted to do was cancel.
Finally got to one arsey woman who did cancel it. She said she needed to know what network I'm going to...
This is the conversation that ensued...

"That's none of your business"
"I need to put it on the form"
"Why ?"
" I need to put it on to close the account"
"Ok call it Banana Network"
This really upset her. I wasn't being rude or nasty or anything. You would have think I'd called her a very nasty C word by the way she reacted...
"Stop being rude and offensive to me"
"How is Banana Network offensive ?" ( I'm laughing )
"Its very rude. You obviously have an attitude problem with O2"
"I dont see how saying Banana Network is rude"
"Its highly offensive becuase it doesnt exist"
"Look just close the account"
"OK final date is blah blah"

They are such a joke - and they wonder why people leave them. Not only have I left them but I will never use them again - even in the unlikely event they suddenly have the best deals.

I'm now On Vodaphone ( not the banana network ) hopefully they will be better, or are they all the same ?

I'm currently waiting for a reply to 2 letters I wrote to 02 telling them they were in breach of contract and saying that I would leave them. Whatever happens i'm off when my contract ends.

IMHO they are all as bad as each other. Centralised call centres, and knowing you are locked in for a year..
