Just watching itv's tonight program about numptys who brought a crap car for 8k then a caravan and then an MPV to pull the caravan when they were already massively in debt. They will probrably lose their house. They come accross like they are so thick and do not think anything through!

Why are some people so blazy (sp) when it comes to running up huge debts when they earn sod all?

Anyone else watching this?

they had to sell the house for 175k, it paid of the mortgage but still does not cover their unsecured debts so they essentially have nothing and owned nothing in the first place. madness

I think the problem is that there's no stigma attached to debt and the need for debt relief any more. Debt, and the shifting around of debt, is seen as sound financial practise these days.

'rip-off Britain', ludicrous house prices and the 'brand new is better than anything else' culture all plays its part, but IMO these adverts for cheap loans must be to blame, especially as they put them on TV when they know the unemployed will be watching.
