I have got a 32" widescreen coming next saturday so just enough time to buy myself a new film

Thinking of something big and bold, the arial scenes in Top Gun would be a good place to start, any ideas

Starship Troopers or The Fifth element are both cracking DVD's for image quality.

It has to be the new Starwars box set.

Or Attack of the Clones - stunning image quality and sound - as you'd expect from Lucasfilm.

How about the first 20mins of Saving Private Ryan ? Would test out your sound rather well, too

Edit: someone beat me to the Saving Private Ryan one.
How about Shaving Ryan's Privates ?

Original Alien, should sort out the brightness/contrast easily.

Gotta agree there. Attack of the clones really does excel on dvd, the picture and sound is incredible, probably due to it being the first movie to be entirely shot on digital film! But seriously, that scene where Obi Wan is being chased by Jango Fett and those cool seismic charge bombs keep going off, that's awesome stuff!

Or any Lord of the Rings!

Driven, featuring noted thesp, Sly 'The Globe Trotter' Stallone.

An appalling film redeemed by two factors.

1)It's a about cars (just).

2)As a tester disc (that's not CGI animation) some of the race sequences ooze detail and dynaimicism.

Failing that, Monsters Inc, chptr 4.

I'll git ma anorik.

Superbit version of 5th Element, as recommended by a friend. The chase around the buildings between the police and Bruce Willis' taxi is astounding.

I have Driven and must say the accident in the wet is fantastic, the way the rain drops hit the visor and the car almost hanging in mid air before being struck by one of the other racers

I suppose I will be trying everything, having only had a 24" for the last couple of months it will be a shock to jump to a 32" widerscreen just want a film that will show off all the features
