Anyone want a Milling Machine?
Discussion
Normally I would jump at the chance, but I acquired a smaller vertical earlier this year, so what with that, a Bridgeport horizontal, two lathes, a shotblast cabinet, tank compressor, two MIG sets and a TVR, my garage/ workshop is getting a little cosy.
To say nothing of the fact that another ton of cast iron would probably see the garage sliding down the hill.
And I put a new ceiling in, so a tall mill won't fit. I was offered a Bridgeport but the head would have to go between the rafters and wouldn't tilt...
:dribble:... machine tools... :slobber:

Easy mate - just jack the roof of your garage up until it's tall enough
Disclaimer - This may be a bit harder to do if the garage is part of your house
It is 3 phase - so that probably rules out most home users. If no one wants it, the local scrapman will take it but it seems a shame to scrap it if anyone has a use.
There is also some tooling with it if I can find it!. It is not particularly modern, (no digital readout), but has it has L-R autofeed, coolant pump and is very sturdily built (they don't make'em like they used to!).
Free to a good home, can't say fairer than that.

Stands about 6ft tall, 4ft deep, 4ft wide - bed is about 3 1/2 ft long and it probably weighs about 1 ton
Sounds like it weighs rather more than a ton... I'd love it, but it'd go into the cellar, because I live in a top floor flat. I don't think the inhabitants of the flats between mine and the cellar would be very pleased.

Yep, I want a milling machine, don't throw it away for christsake. How many HP is the motor? Might be able to whack a 3hp on it ????? Might get it in the van.
Haven't got a clue how many HP it is, can have a look on monday, why does it need a bigger motor? if you're interested let me know (email thru profile if you want).
As i said just want it out the way.
