I had to read that about four times and it still didn't make any sense.

someone I don't really understand said:
Rome's recent revival of indulgences is a further demonstration of her shoring-up of the great Purgatory lie. Reject the lie, put off the Antichrist, and receive the truth of the true Christ. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, thou and thy house" – saved from sin and death by Christ alone.

I'm truly sorry if my opinion offends - but damn I'd love to have this explained to me.

So did I miss something here or did they just say...

Rome has chaged tack on its beliefs on what is acceptable and what's not acceptable in terms of human behaviour [damn I wish the fingers would keep up with the mind on this one] and now we should be warned that Rome has got it wrong. And we should "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, thou and thy house"

Why oh why oh why oh why oh feckin why can't we have these teachings in simple GCSE/Key Stage Learning 1 terminology?

I mean - it's supposed to be salvation - if a child can't grasp it what hope do the rest of us have?

For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

I'm confused

Hang on!

more stuff said:
However, the Pope has not damned the fires of Purgatory. To the Pope the fires of Purgatory are real, and the only way to escape them is to finance Mother Church, so that masses can be said for the release of the poor souls in Rome's semi-hell, Purgatory.

Help me out here - again what does "finance the Mother Church" mean? Now I'm pretty (un)certain that this is about pounds shillings and pence - but is it?

worringly

Er, "suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of heaven", as the translation of Jesus's original words in the stained glass window of our local church read, causing me much childish disquiet as it looked like Jesus wanted the children to suffer. Language is a weird thing sometimes.

Anyway... your quote is directed against the religious equivalent of people whose view of computer technology is distorted and limited because they've only ever experienced it through the products of the Evil Empire. people with whom it is utterly pointless to mention Linux to because they think Internet Exploder and the Internet are the same thing so if they don't have Exploder they won't be able to do anything. The teachings of the Catholic church imply that forgiveness and salvation are conditional upon jumping through hoops held by priests (confessionals/penances), that you can buy forgiveness from the Pope for money (indulgences), that the Pope can cut you off forever from contact with God (excommunication). According to the Bible itself, this is bollocks; salvation and forgiveness are something which operate on a personal basis between God and the person concerned through Jesus, and no other person can bugger this up.

One may have mixed feelings about Jerry Adams, but you have to admire his sense of self sacrifice for the greater good. The poor bastard, when apparently sober, has offered to sit down and talk to Smiling Ian face to face.

I lived in Larne at the time of the first problems and remember seeing someone who looked like the said person (don't want his solicitors having a go) turn the mob of Prods up the only catholic street to have a go at them and cause a riot. (it couldn't have been him)

Go on Google and have a look at how many people live there, you might be suprised how few there are to mainland britain and how this old git can cause so much grief for so many years.

Ps:I was counted as a Prod when I was there but after seeing the way some can think they are better than everyone else, I became Me(No religion)!

An IRA gunman comes across a dark alleyway, containing Ian Paisley, the british Prime Minister, and Daniel O'Donnell. He realises he only has two bullets left, so what does he do? ....
