I'm a violent career burglar, with a serious drug habit. The new legislation being considered could seriously interfere with my career. If the general public are given the right to protect their homes and property using reasonable force, this could seriously impact on my profit margins.

Every six months I have to spend £10 on a new jemmy to break into houses (although occasionally I’ll find one to nick). If this proposed legislation becomes law it will mean that I’m going to have to fork out £100 for a firearm to protect myself. Why does the Government insist on interfering with my career? If this nanny state continues with its constant interfering, where will it all end? Who knows one day I may be forced to pay Tax on my income. Totally outrageous – I think I’ll write to my MP. Up to now he’s been extremely supportive of my career choice.

What?! Are you suggesting that we sit back and let them take our belongings?

I'm sorry but if you enter my house in the middle of the night I am going to open a can of whoopass on you and protect my family with whatever comes to hand......probably the cat!
