Saw an advert on TV last night for some girly cosmetic cream stuff - can't remember the exact product name, but it was from the same people who make Oil of Olay.
The soft feminine voice over on the ad said this product was designed as an alternative to surgery in order " to firm up your eyes"

So if I use it, will it make me look well hard then ?

Did it contain bioflueriptopifftides, or some other miracle ingredient?

Yes if I were the target market for these absurd products I can safely say that being treated like a scientifically challenged, bottom feeding idiot, would not make me more likely to believe the patently ridiculous claims they make for their snake oil. Furthermore spelling water 'aqua' does not impress me really.

New improved soap powders that get clothes even whiter.

So they are saying there last adverts for the previous version didn't get your clothes white, since they've now improved it.

Anyway what is whiter than white.....?

Adverts....... it's what remote controls and channel hoping was made for.

Irritatingly the ad breaks appear to be at the same time on most of the channels.

[edit]
Love channel hoping. as in "I hope there'll be something worth watching on this channel"[/edit]

Contains Boswellox... Surely someone in the advertising agency put this in as a placeholder and it somehow sneaked out??? It can't be real... Can it?

Wasn't there a soap powder ad that was pulled a few years ago because it showed images of white being 'released' from other colours(white horse running out of pack of black stallions etc.), and someone complained it was racist?

The most obviously stupid ones at the moment are for new TVs.

You know the sort "With our patented MegaColourPlus+++ technology, colours have never looked so real....."

Then they show you a kind of before-and-after sequence.

So if it looks that good on my TV.....i may as well keep it, thanks all the same....

(its subtle, think about it)

If you're like us and only have 4 1/2 channels, the adverts are frequently the most entertaining thing on TV.

whiter than white is pale blue as the atmosphere filters out some of the blue spectrum in natural light therefore the, whiter than white pale blue, puts this back in making it look whiter.
