Gadget of the year
Discussion
Ok, time to admit I am a gadget freak I just bought one of these of eBay
Whats that I hear you ask??
Well its actualy a miniature FM Pirate Radio Station contained in a cigar lighter plug, but it has a USB connector at the other end of it.
How does it work?
Well you plug a flash-drive (USB Memory Stick) into it like this:
...which you have preciously loaded with all your favourite mp3's on and you can now play them over your car stereo without conecting any wires (like the iPod does with the wireless link).
How much does it cost?
I 'sniped' it in the last auction seconds for the opening price of £14.99. Then add the ridiculous costs of postage from Hong Kong or another £13, and three days later you are the proud owner of an in car mp3 player for the pricely sum of £28 no need to snipe it though as there are so many on there you should get one for the £14.99 starting price as my mate did.
Using your flash drive memory (I bought a 1 Gigabyte stick for £55 plus VAT) I was able to download 220 high bit-rate choonz in just 3 minutes via USB2.
You then plug said unit into cigar socket, tune your car radio into any one of lots of preset stations (ranging from 87 Khz to 98 Khz) and hey presto good quality digital music through your car hifi.
Whats the quality like?
I think its excellent. A bit of background when cranked up, but not really noticeable unless cranked to the max (and my mates car has £4k worth of audio in it and he was very impressed with it). Certainly in the same league as CD quality
Total cost about £85 if you go for a 1Gigabyte stick or under £50 if you use a 256Meg stick.
So there you are mp3 music in the car without having to buy a flash dedicated mp3 head unit, works on any car radio for under £50.
Stacks up to be gadget of the year in my books

Well, my brother bought one of these things in a backwards Muslim country, 6 months ago.... nothing good ever comes from them does it?
Back on topic, it's actually very good and works on the same principle as the iTrip thingy but plays MP3s... only limitation is the memory of the stick, unlike the iPod......

Oh that's a poor effort 968. Is there any thread you won't attempt to politicise?
Anyhow, I'm not sure a computerised toilet is a massive step forward for society...So I wouldn't try to claim that buying a Electronic Bog in a Muslim country is cool...
And as a final reposte - was the WunderLoo made in aforesaid Muslim Country? No? Thought not. The only people who make these are the Japanese....and thats becuase they have a very strange relationship with bodily functions in general.
You can buy anything you like in HongKong - but they don't make it there, and the law on copyright means you have the right to copy anything you like. Where you buy something is pretty irrelevant given the globalisation of retail sales.

Quit??
And live well into my nineties? I have no pention so that wouldn't be much fun!
Live well, die middle aged and leave a cancer riddled corpse, thats my plan
aha, so I will be seeing you in the hospital then........
Guess that depends on whether you are NHS or Private..

no. just that you have to work in the NHS initially, prior to getting any private work, besides it's a good place to garner new private patients....
I know...I know....I'm just ribbing...
So you cynically use the NHS to recruit private patients eh?
(I'm kidding....)
