Excellent choices ... Joy Division, Jam etc. Good choice.

Would like to see The Man Whose Head Expanded by The Fall in there if it were me.

The Smiths were *very* good and are much missed ...

Just read it again ... King, excellent - Paul King is a genuinely nice bloke ...

I've got 'Lucifer over Lancashire' by The Fall, I haven't found it yet but that's going in as soon as I do!

Did ya ever come across a vinyl playing jukie in the pub with "twistin by the pool" by Dire Straits on it? That particular disc was quite unusual, a 33rpm single. Always good for a laugh to hear it Pinky & Perky style!

Funny you should mention that but I stuck 'Inspiral Carpets' Island Head E.P. forgetting it was 33rpm!

My old record player had 33, 45, 78 & 16 rpm settings. Has anybody ever seen a 16 rpm record?

They were used mainly for spoken word stuff as the frequency range wasn't as wide as that on a 33 1/3 rpm or higher disc.
And, apparently, Chrysler used to fit under-dash players with a 16 rpm setting.

You're welcome.
They were also good for searching out those 'hidden' "Paul is dead" messages in classic songs.

Slightly off topic (cracking list Corin, by the way).

Anyone remember when Amstrad brought out that vertical record player? My mate had one; how we marvelled at its techincal ingenuity....
