5:30pm, still at work. Phone rings.

It's that foxy Nurse I know... obviously ringing up for some hot luvin'

"Hello there"

Anyway conversation unfolds, she's been out on a site visit at work with a colleague (also female so yes dealing with not one, but TWO women here)

While loading their Honda Civic, they dropped the car keys, down the drain, yes down the drain.

Anyway so as I'm repeating the conversation out loud in the office and everybody is pissing themselves laughing, I slowly shutdown my laptop, pack up and leave knowing that I had to go drive over there, help them hook the keys out of the drain etc as they're women.

Anyway so I'm about 15 minutes away when the girl phones (hands free kit of course here) so she wanted to know what I was going to do to get the keys back.

I suggested using the magnet and some CAT-5 network cable I had in the boot to get them back, at which point it clicked the car was still unlocked and has a coat hanger, a magnet (believe it or not) and some cellotape in the boot.

So while still in phone, within 30 seconds they got the keys out of the deep drain, this is a good 45 mins after the first phone call!!

What are they like !! Both these people have degrees for goodness sake

Managed to lock myself out of the house a few months back - keys were on the inside of the front door, me and littlen are outside.

Phone parents using mobile in bag - only it's not in there, I can see it on charge still in the kitchen

Wander round neighbours to find one that's home. Phew! Phone parents - Dad suggests I take littlen to school anyway...yeah, great idea, but the car key is on the house key bunch. Never mind says Dad, have you got a spare house key in the car? Err...the car is locked!

Cue a 40 minute wait for the spare back door key to get back into the house.

All polished off with a reprimand from Dad 'Now don't do that again!' FFS, first time I've done it since leaving home 20 years ago!

My wife has a law degree - I once convinced her that it was pointless having ice in diet coke unless the ice cubes were made from distilled water, as undistilled water was fattening.

I've managed to lock the girlfriend in the house before.

She had left her keys in my car (as they were uncomfortable in her pocket) - early start next day so I locked the door behind me and left.

Living in a first floor flat at the time so she had to stay there until I got back - 2 days later.

When I got home I unlocked the door and ran.

And her work docked her two days pay for unauthorised 'leave'.

My wife managed to lock her Chimaera keys in the boot at a motorway services near where we live.

Car was open - but without the keys the electric boot release doesn't work.

So she begs the use of a mobile phone of a (very nice) trucker but because she can't remember my mobile number (its a shortcut on her phone so she doesn't need to remember it) phones her Dad.

In Colchester.

We live in Basingstoke!

Her dad gets my bro-in-law to look up my mobile number on the net. Calls me. I'm in the house anyway by then. Get the call. I drive up with the spare keys.

The sheer contrition on her face was a sight to behold.

And I will never, ever bring it up in conversation ever for any reason.

Thank goodness she doesn't read PH!

Told my GF to rewind the rental DVD, otherwise they'll charge you extra. She was half way to the machine before it dawned

My boss called out a colleague to the office on Sunday as the bosses keys were inside. Colleague unlocks office, helps boss unload some wheels from his car which were being collected from the office on Monday. Boss goes to park car legally. Colleague locks up office and goes home.

Bosses keys still inside the locked office!

My boss has a habit of locking his keys in his office. I just get my lock-picks out and let him back in

Careful admitting to that one. I had the same problem, picked the lock in question, only to have the MD realise that his secure storage was not so hot after all.

My wife also has a law degree. I convinced her that heliskiing involved using one of those helicopters with ski-like struts, rather than wheels, and sliding down a slope in the helicopter off a cliff then siwtching on the engine to fly off.

You do realise that if your wife ever reads this (and all spouses find PH eventually)you are going to have what Deristrictor has requested be done to him in his latest thread!
