Found this advertised on my Uni job-link website, it sounds OK but somewhat dodgy, specially the part about sending first class stamps to recieve the stuff. I know that this is obviously going to be one of those things where I have to place adverts asking people to be film extras for only a tenner! Should I go for it?

Description: Opportunities are available for students to earn extra cash by acting as agents for a publicity company. You will be required to place a small advertisement in your local paper or rag magazine. The advertisement offers the opportunity for people to become TV or film extras. You will be supplied with free starter pack of information leaflets that you can send out to those who respond to the advertisement. The leaflet explains to them what they have to do to become a TV or film extra. No canvassing or telephone calls are involved and you do not pay any commissions on your earnings. The work will not interfere with your studies and simply involves postal correspondence.

Closing Date: OPEN
Rate of Pay: £75 - £150 per week

Notes: Bonuses of up to £50 are also available.
Application Method: Write to Dawn Publications, 19 Mason Street, Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire OL7 0PD. Provide your full name, address and post code, an A4 self-addressed envelope and 10 loose 1st class stamps to cover packging and administration costs. www.tvfilmextras.co.uk/

That one sets my scam senses tingling...

I could possibly see it being legit, but if it were this approach seems counter-intuitive...

If they'd asked for a £20 joining/franchise fee then i'd be worried. 10 first class stamps is only the price of a pint, give it a go; just don't send any money to anyone. If its a scam you've hardly lost your life saving and if its not you might be a few quid up. Let me know how it goes, i could do with a second income

why don't they do it themselves? Maybe they don't want annoyed "customers" knocking on their door when they don't get any work?

It's a scam, IIRC the kit you get tells you how to market another load of kits, you get a cut of the tenner in the advert or something
