In the bathroom cabinet I have a large selection of various toiletries, face scrub, face balm, revitalising gel, etc, along with a range of razors, including a Gillete Mach 3, the new M3 and a couple of electric shavers.

Prefer using a traditional wet shave, but how often do people use the face scrub etc? Or don't you bother? Having had some time yesterday I used the scrub before shaving then the balm afterwards and felt baby smooth. However normally I am running late so its result if I don;t cut myself!

Philips shaver, made back in the 80's. Gets used 2-3 times a week. Face gets washed with soap and dryed with a towel.

And I'm still gorgeous!

Face scrub

I always laughed about this stuff until I tried an apricot scrub. Makes your face feel lovely. I use it once or twice a week now, or whenever I can feel my pores are blocked.

And no, I don't use a girly one, it's full of crushed apricot husks and it's proper blokey stuff. It's feels just like Vim.......

but it does come in a peach coloured bottle

I use a water activated gel scrub and a honey almond body scrub... I then apply an alcohol free aftershave lotion, because alcohol dries you skin out and makes you look older.

Ah American Psycho, a great film! Back on topic, you should only use the scrub about twice a week, unless, you really feel like you need it at some point. Always remember to moisturise afterwards as well.

He will be telling us next he is a big Genesis fan and can do 1000 crunches.

Scub never tried, someone gave me Nivia For Men moisturiser used approx twice, keep forgetting to use it.

I tend to wet shave with King Of Shave’s gel which contains lots of things like tea tree oil etc which is great. I use the blue, DON’T get the green its supposed to be cooling but all it does is sting your face and make your eyes water.

grrrr me man!

I shave once or twice a week (still can't get out of this student habit!) with shaving soap in a bowl applied with a brush and a cutthroat razor that's about 85 years old but to me that's the only way!

You can join the PH "Men's Club". The others are all black-balled (or should that be "pink-balled" ?)

I remember it well from my (very short-lived) Army career. Shaving with a cut-down 'bic' using water from a muddy puddle (bayonet wasn't sharp enough).

I use surgical spirit after shaving. That can bring a tear to your eye.

I do use a moisturiser though.

I have a beard (well, more unshaven than beard) simply because it hurts SO much to shave, and if I do it everyday simply red, horrible, and sore.

I have however seen ads recently for the electric shaver that you use wet with foam? It has a 28 day guarantee because it says its designed for sensitive skin (doesn't everything though......it never works!). Has anyone had experience of this product? Begins with Sc but can't remember the rest of the name.

As for other toiletries.....exfoliate everyday, not alot more.

Oh...other than saunas and jacuzzis at the gym

I think it is called Scherma (or something like that). It sounds like it has used the principle behind Philishave's Cool Skin range. The Cool Skin shavers dispense either gel or creme (Nivea for Men gel or shaving emulsion cartridges are inserted into the back of the shaver and, at the touch of a botton, the gel or emulsion is dispensed as you shave.)

Prices start at about £69 and go up to approx. £129. You will find that the cheapest in the range will give you an equally good shave, just without the fancy extras (recharge/battery full indication signal, minutes shave remaining display, etc). It takes about three weeks for your skin to get used to the system, but I have been told that it is very effective.
