I've been on the wine.

However, why is it when somebody asks you to open the cranberry sauce bottle because its too tight for them, you feel a satisfying sense of smugness when you manage to twist it open?

I usually wait to be asked last I particularly enjoy it when a woman takes the jar off a guy and cracks it open with no problem.

Odd!

Even though I'm right handed, the left hand grips it better.

My life's ambition is now to have Janet Street Porter ask me to open a jar for her

Don't get me started on that woman... If ever there was a reason to recreate the gimp scene from pulp fiction with a woman playing Marcellus's role, she's it

I was hopping round my kitchen with a jar of pasta sauce trying to get it open..

I've found hitting it with a big hammer works well!

I usually find sticking a knife under the lid and releasing the suction means I can then usually open it fine.

I wrap an elastic band around the top, which usually enables me to get it off much easier.
