Despite all the shops and TV telling us that Christmas starts sometime in late August, when does it really feel like Christmas to you?

It is Christmas to me when I visit my mum and there are little bowls of choccies and mixed nuts on the sideboard for visitors. Also when we put up the Christmas tree on Dec 10th (my wife's birthday) any earlier and it doesn't seem that near to Christmas.

1st December. Actually anytime after bonfire night but my missus gives me despairing looks if I start too early so December is a compromise!

Ditto. Usually get a couple of days before Christmas Eve. We break up real late this year. I do not feel Christmasy at all. Bah, humbug.

Not sure, it depends what shifts I'm working. I'm off this year, for the first time in 5 or 6 years.

Working nights on New Year's Eve though. Bah, BumHug

Normally after Dec 15th (My b'day) but having helped put up all the decorations up on Tues at the pub, i've started to get in the festive mood.

Pretty much now because after 1st December in this industry it is almost impossible to get anyone to make business decisions until the New Year!

Christmas really starts at 7.30 pm on Christmas Eve when we meet with other villagers to sing carols round the Christmas tree and enjoy mulled wine from the local pub.

We will be getting a little taster on December 11th as we have a mini Christmas shopping fest in the market place. Last year we were dancing in the street to a progressive rock band. Very sureal.

Life in our village is very different.
