you know how tech an machinery has replaced many low skilled jobs, well, aren't there some jobs that a human would still be cheap enough to keep on the payroll, an where a human face is welcome over a mechanical one...?

imagine its circa 2010 to 2100 ad.

i reckon the following jobs will still exist -

shop assistant/supermarket shelf-filler
road-sweeper
toilet attendant
dustman
waiter/steward
doorman
usher
shoe-shiner
laundry assistant
baggage handeler
room maid
medical orderly
cleaner

any additions..?

if you theyre low-skilled then you dont understand much about real work an trade skills.

these jobs are well paid an in demand + durable, whereas service industry jobs can get transfered abroad quite easily.

an isnt it amazing how the 'car cleaner' job has failed to be mentioned here until now

i wonder now do many here know what low skilled job is?

It's going to get a lot rougher for Bricklayers and Plumbers as more intelligent motivated and educated people are starting to take up the careers becase of the money and the demand.

So hopefully they will be some skilled relaible folk in this sector soon, rather than the workshy skilless slackers one usually encounters

Meanwhile lawyers and other professionals can't even write a letter now

Actually a higher level of brain processing power is needed for these jobs than those of administrator or police constable or social worker.

I suggest monkeys may replace scamera operator sooner or later.

Road safety consultant could be a good job for someone from a special needs school, oh it alsready is

Trouble is, some "Low Skilled" jobs are ones that I would hate to see go.

Waiter is one of them. Yes, I am sure they can be replaced, but if I go to a good restaurant, I enjoy the service as much as the food. And being a good waiter may be low-skill, but it is something I hold in high regard.

Anyone who has been to a supposedly "top" eaterie, to be met by silly/inattentive/overly friendly/unhelpful staff will know how it spoils an otherwise great meal.
