Apparently the next Dan Brown (Da Vinci Code bloke) book is about the freemasons...
I'm not a Mason though....

The information that has been revealed so far about Brown's next Robert Langdon adventure is that it takes place in America and focuses on the founding of the nation and the powerful secret society of Freemasonry.

I thought it was meant to be "secret"
Not at all. There's an awful lot of misinformation about Freemasonry - there is mystery attached to the various degrees that freemasons pass through as they progress, but it wouldn't be much of a challenge if it was all common knowledge.

I thought they were a fund raising team for the Knights Templar (priory of Scion) and were hiding the arc of the covenant.
Oh dear, dear me!!
What was it Rabbie said? "God preserve us from the English!"
If you want to know what the Templars were about and their esoteric qualities visit Rosslyn Chapel in Midlothian.
If you want to know what the Lodge is about, join.
Perhaps one of the Pistonheading Freemasons could help me out on this one.
I have been asked to join but have always steered very well clear of it. To me the idea of a secret society that in essence all about the interests of the self and fellow members and the same time also marches under the banner of Christianity is something of a paradox. Surely if freemasonry is a truly Christian organisation then it should be about the interests of everyone and not just its members?
I do accept that I may have the wrong end of the stick on this one so I look forward to being told where I have gone wrong.
Oh yes, does being a catholic count you out?
