Assuming it is real and not replica, it is a real rarity.
Two options :
Two options :
- Aston Martin DBR1 of 1957 - 1959, of which there were only five (they won the World Sports Car Championship and Le Mans in that period)
- Aston Martin DBR2, a non-Championship derivative, physically slightly larger in all directions, but visually almost the same, of which there were only two, originally with 3.7 and 3.9-litre engines of 'DB4' type.
Johnnytheboy's Dad must have great records. The story of these cars has been told several times, and there are several well-illustrated books on the subject. It's amazingly just how few DBR1s were needed to sustain a full World Championship programme in the late 1950s.
Incidentally, will that particular car (illustrated) be road registered, and insured ? OK - I know, I'm a spoil sport, but I promise not to tell ....

Wilkinsons Coachbuilders just round the corner from you, do nearly all the coachwork for Aston Engineering and the various (wealthy!!) owners of the cars that go through AE. Whilst my car was having it's body restored there it shared floor space with two (original) Zagato Astons amongst others.
