Hi Guys,

I am trying to get my old Vauxhall Victor back up and running but it fails to start, not getting a spark at the plugs, have changed components below, am now suspecting the coil, is there anyway to check a coil is actually working, any help ideas greatfully accepted. I have tried taking the HT lead from the coil to earth but agan no spark.

Did you emery cloth the points when you fitted them?

They come with some varnish like covering to pretect them in storage.

Did you change the condenser when you changed the rest?

Hi Guys,
The points are the ones I had in the car ( ie not new ) and look ok, I did a test on the condensor according to the manual and it tested ok.

Found an interesting video on YouTube on how to test a coil will give that a bash tomorrow and keep

I'd simply swap the coil with one I know works.
