..... Pegaso!

Prompted by the Facel thread (a car I always lusted after),
here are some illustrations from a brochure and a price list that my father got in 1953.

I doubt that those 1953 prices included Purchase Tax silly

In my humlbe opinion the Pegaso is not even close to the FV cars.

Not so sure - a Z102 is far more interesting in terms of engineering than any Facel (although I still want a Facel II).

Agreed, the spec was amazingly advanced for the time, 3 litre four cam v8 and the gearbox mounted with the diff.

I wasn't making any comment on which was the 'better' car (the Facel or the Pegaso),
I could (should?) have just entitled the thread 'Pegaso' (I did put a Clown Smiley next to the subject rolleyes) but I was so amazed at the large response to the Facel Vega thread
I just thought that I would jump on the Bandwagon without hijacking that very interesting thread biggrin.

BTW the Spanish text brochure is for the z-103.

Using the retail price index (RPI) as a guide, a Superleggera bodied Pegaso selling for £9400 in 1953 would be the equivalent of £196,000 today.

..... and if you bought a house for £10K in 1953, just think how much that would now be worth yikes.

I love the 'no holes barred' engineering under the skin of the Pegaso. Pity about some of the coachwork.
