If you want to be really stingy though a Lomax/other 2cv kit car. My Lomax is about 60% of the weight of a 2cv. with a 2cv exhaust system, and driving without revving the nuts off it everywhere will result in high MPG. Unfortunately, a Lomax urges you to rev the thing untill you hear it literally screaming for its life before changing gear. Even then you will probably get about 40mpg out of it....
