Hello PHers biggrin

I am being married on Cornwall on 16/4/11.

I have possibly left it a little late, but I was going to use a car in Cornwall I found, but it's a little steep, and I am not asking a lot.

So, I wondered if anybody has a car, nice and full of chrome, for my significantly better and more deserving half to arrive in?

I am arriving in this:

All being well, and we'll be leaving in it too.

The venue is here:

http://www.carnglaze.com/

Anybody interested in doing such a generous thing would obviously be compensated fairly, and very welcome to join in all of the fun. I would rather keep things in this sort of community than go somewhere in it for the money, rather than the cars. I may not have many posts here, but with some 12000+ on the SXOC I like to consider myself a petrolhead, and find like minded people are easiest to both get on with, and hand over my hard earned to.

Thanks for any help anybody!

Ben

This is my daughters wedding last september near Edinburgh

Thank you very much for the thoughts and replies chaps smile

I am trying many angles, but so many local 'club' sites seem to have numbers and email addresses that no longer work, I was just starting to despair!

I got married in Cornwall (Polhawn Fort at Rame Head) and found a bloke with a Mk 2 white Jaguar who came up from Exeter. Can't remember the website or phone no# for love or money, but worth a google for wedding car hire exeter, or look in yell.com.

SWMBO has decreed now that she requires more input...

Rollers are out...

Bentley Turbo Rs... out frown

Mk2 Jag... out

I am starting to struggle. Her father for reasons best known to him has elected to refuse to drive, so the e-type or mustang is out.

Anybody have any cunning ideas?

Sorry to keep boring you smile

Virtually every wedding car service in and around Plymouth are chav type stretched white limos. If that's her thing, then fine - white, chrome, shiny, tacky.

There's a wedding car service up at Yelverton who did used to have an old Bentley S2 iirc. Might be worth an enquiry. Now that IS a classy car.

Limos are totally out.

Thanks for the pointer, I'll take a look there...

Nothing chavvy will be coming, unless you count a fair number of the SXOC who are my friends and coming biggrin

Went to a wedding in Devon last summer where the bride arrived, driven by her dad, in his big Healey. He removed the passengers seat so she could sit on the back seat (it was a BJ8)with all the dress/ train forward. There are a lot of Healey owners in Cornwall, almost the car's ancestral home, also I think there is a Healey hire company there.

We had a Facel Vega HK500. I emailed the chairman of the owners' club and he turned up to take us to the reception for little more than the price of the petrol. smile

Can't offer any more advice though.

This is what my missus arrived in on our big day.

I'm afraid I'm up in Glasgow otherwise I would have obliged.

Have a great day anyway!

Regards,

James.

Thanks for the continued thoughts and replies smile

I suggested both Healeys (my Grandad worked for AH Spares for a while, so one would have been a very real possibility) but 'apparently' convertibles are no good, as it'll mess up her hair, and her father does not want to drive, but they have to arrive together, so it needs at least 3 seats...

Hmmm, 3 seats, maybe I can find a McLaren F1 knocking about gathering dust somewhere? biggrin
