I'm sure this has been done before and I am also sure I must be getting old, but I can't help wondering where all the fabulous afforable cars have gone. My case in point is the 635i - old v new - is there a better example of an old model which is in almost every way more desirable than its modern equivalent?

Just look at the headlights, grille, bonnet and shark nose. Stunning.

Over to you.............

Generally the first model of a car has purity of vision. It gets muddled as the years go by.

I have long said that putting a 6 series badge on that abomination should have been a capital offense.

The original... just one of the best looking cars ever

Except the BMW 0.5 Series doesn't even resemble a Mini & I refuse to use the name Mini for such an abomination....hmm your right hehe

My tip is Escorts, Mk1s (& Mk2s) are wonderful but look at the heap of crap me had by the Mk5.

Chargers, challengers, camaros, corvettes...

Pretty much all the muscle cars were gorgeous in their original form, the modern ones are just plastic tat.

Also, Impalas, Monte Carlos, Malibus...

Always pick the classics, always.

Absoultely agree! Except when you say this- you get Zod and all his cronies getting all out of shape- declaring the new 6 series to be the best and most beautiful car in the world!
