Any one know what the differences are between the 67 and 68 Mustang ?

I believe it was Minor Body and Interior trim and the front grille ?

Was the "HighLand Green" Bullit Car a 67 or 68 ?

The main changes were cosmetic. The 68 had front and rear side markers, different wheels and different grill ornaments. The lower side vents were also changed from the 67. The interior will have a different steering wheel (awful in the 68!) and the deluxe trim went from aluminium in the 67, to wood effect in the 68. Its all down to personal preferance which one you would prefer.

I watched Bullitt as a kid and now own a 67 390 GTA fastback. Think I may just get buried in it!

And if your 67/68 Fastback is a bit rusty, fear not, as you can now buy (for about £10k plus shipping) a brand spanking complete bodyshell for them smile

Which reminds me; can anyone explain why the baddies managed to lose five wheel trims during the chase?

I imagine that will be the same person who will explain why the Mustang is fitted with a 16 speed gearbox, or why there are so many identically coloured VW Beetles on the hills of San Francisco!

OK, I'll bite smile

The 'jumping' sequence down Tyalor Street, was a 'one take' only sequence as it was going to trash completely both cars in the one take. So, by setting up multiple cameras from different positions, the chase could be edited to look like it was in a sequence of different streets, hence the multiple hub cap loss, and the same Beetle and other 'film prop' cars appearing at the same point in the sequence, but just from different angles.
