i was a bit concerned as i`d bought some, was about to use it, but was told that it clogs up the radiator and can cause overheating, its a new ally one so did`nt really want that happening.

Used this product many times it is excellent. No connection with the maker.

It got me out of trouble with several classic cars from time to time as my stable altered.

However like all these products it obviously cannot produce the same result as renewing the offending leaking part.

However it worked for me. I could not get the parts easily and this product definitely works. I drove several thousand miles in these cars after treatment over time and it even kept antifreeze in the motor.

I thoroughly recommend the product.

Seems like there`s some difference of opinion then, but i thin k i`ll give it a go.
There`s no serious leaks, its an old XK engine, so core plugs weeping ect, there a pain to get to to change, so this is why i`m thinking of K Seal.

do you have to watch your heater matrix's?

Used a similar product and it blocked my old Laguna DERV's matrix meaning cold air only!

Think you either have to have heater either on or off - but unsure of which! Maybe someone could elaborate, or disregard this for OP.

...however the practical use of product I used kept car going for a good few years and at least another 30k miles on an engine showing 280k when sold.

I have used K-Seal on my ali Aston V8 engine. This product was recommended (and sold to me) by RSWilliams, the NP Aston gurus.

In my experience all the good reports seem to come from those who have actually used it - the bad reports seem to come from those that would never try it.

I've used it before - in particular on my old 123 series Merc with a weeping head gasket - kept me on the road for over 2 years.

My MX-5 overheated and killed its water pump. AA man did a roadside repair and advised garage I was taking it to to check the remaining coolant. Yep, gummed up with K-Seal.

AA chap said it's fine as a "get you home" type affair, but drain anf flush it out asap.

Been in my Volvo for over 16k miles now after serious h/g failure
Loses no water at all but yes the heater is not very good now, but that seems to be 'cos the car simply won't warm up!

I'd agree that it does appear a bit of a bodge and I'd only use it on a banger (like I did) as it's treating the symptoms...not the problem! ...but it keep an otherwise scrapper on the road for a good few thousand miles, and was still running well when sold (for peanuts I should add!)

In my experience, Kseal is good for stop gap/short term use ,but Seal Up is the Daddy as far as these quick fixes go.

Used this stuff on a K series engine (previously used Kseal in it and was ok for a couple of months)usual overheating , loss of coolant etc but the Seal Up has done the job !
Must be nearly three years now and the car is still going strong, never had the cyl head off, i wouldn't have believed it if i hadn't poured it in myself.

Good luck with that. I dumped a bottle of K-seal into my XJ6 a couple of weeks ago when I suspected the head gasket was going, and needed to get 80 miles home.

It didn't make the slightest bit of difference - the car expired in a cloud of steam and came home on a trailer.

Change the core plugs. It'll save a lot of pain in the long run.

I think K-Seal can be poured in with the anti freeze but Seal-up needs the radiator flushed before and after use. I have used K-seal before with good results. You can't beat a proper fix but it saves some grief

Only one ive tried was Steel Seal. Bit expensive, but worked. The car in question had a blown headgasket, was using 1 litre of water every 10miles and the temp gauge was going mental. I took it to the local garage and they confirmed headgasket had blown and wanted £1200 to fix it.

I stuck some steel seal in it - followed the instructions to the letter and it worked. I didnt believe for a second it would, but it did. No more water loss, temp gauge showing correct temp.

Cant say how long it would last for as I sold the car to a car dealer the next day....
