Motor Sport Tested this SUPERSPEED Modified MK3 Cortina and found it offered a reasonable increase in Performance, But its handling neede much more development!!

Few were probably Converted, any survivors ?

That was the problem with the Mk3 conversions compared to all the Savage Mk2 etc. Despite the 'on paper' suspension improvement over the Maccy strut setup of the Mk1/2, the Mk3 onwards was frankly pants, and most people just bought a Capri instead.

Up until he retired a few years ago, the old guy that used to do all my MOT's for years and years, had worked for Jeff Uren at Hanwell back in the sixties, building the Savage conversions, and he said that the Mk3 was simply just not as good a platform for the V6 conversion, as the Mk2, and the market fizzled out pretty quickly.

Slightly o/t but possibly interesting; The Aussies shoe horned the 3.3 and 4.1 inline 6 from the Falcon into the Mk3 and had similar issues with nose heavy handling!
