I suppose I could have titled this thread 'Cars I should have brought' just to annnoy people on PH...

I should have bought the Aston DB with the Jag XK motor.

I should have bought the Riley 9 special.

I should have bought the Ferrari 250 GTE missing its engine and box.

The Bronze 911 3.0 Turbo with no chassis number and plenty of rust.

I should have bought the Cortina Mk1 estate woody wagon.

I'm sure there have been many more I should have bought, oh yes, the green TR4.

I'd like to buy the Lotus Elan +2 mising the correct engine but with a 1700 Crossflow but the domestic finance minister wont allow it.

Hey ho.

A rather poorly looking E-type I got offered back in college. 1964 coupe in primrose that had been involved in an accident. I was offered it stupidly cheap.

I turned it down as it wasn't something I could just drive straight away.

I'll forever regret it.

I didn't buy a Lamborghini Espada 18 years ago because......I still don't know why cry
It was running, MOT & tax, had a few electric problems but a t £2k....

The other one is one I wished I'd not sold - Audi Quattro - a real one, LHD, plastic panels, huge turbo lag and supposedly the third one imported into the UK.
In my defense - I sold it because I just knew I would kill myself in it! A very quick car is all I'm saying!

Shouldn't have sold my E30 M3 for sure. Should have bought The EVO sport instead of the said M3 but the extra 3/4k seemed like fortune, I mean 12k for an EVO Sport... Silly money.

Way too many to mention! I particularly like reading the auction reports in C&SC only to see the bargains up for sale in forecourts in the back of the mag at 4 x the auction price yet only days since the auction was held!

My Lovely White Fiat 500, J Reg, rescued from some very friendly Pikeeeys at Stoke Newington in 1988, after i spotted it on the back of their lorry. I paid them £35 quid, gave them my address and they said they would deliver it on Saturday morn.......i never expected to see it ever again...or my 35 quid but true to their word they turned up......Mother wasnt amused......neither was my ex wife.....I got her running, bought new sills, then stupidy sold her 3 months later to a stunning blonde from Chelsea called Camila and her boyfriend for 175 quid.....madness........

The Black Bubble Arched "Genuine Escort Twin Cam" Rally car,in Twickenham, west london, that i found in motoring news. £500 would have bought it, circa 1983. Gutted.

The Rusting ( Zeibarted ) N-REG Sebring Red RS3100 Capri that i didnt try hard enough to rescue from Debden in 1982/83.

The Crumbling , but very rapid/totally original Polaris Silver 3.0 CSL from a BMW trader near Harrow circa 1985, he collected me from Harrow rail stn in it one eve and had just driven it down from Scotland the previous eve. i just couldnt beleive how fast it was, but the rot frightened me off from parting with £1,100

The Moonstone Sunbeam Lotus i should have kept, rebuilt engine, so sideways fast, sold for £1,300 circa 1998.....And many more....when i can remember them.....

The Plymouth Barracuda for £500 from Wembley. The ground shook when that started. biggrin

The Blue 3.8 E-Type Coupe which was nicely used and a snip at £7k back in '91.

The 246 Dino for a fraction more than I paid for my new MG Metro in 1984. weeping

The series 1.5 dhc e type imported from the US, terribly part restored by a guy who then died, conned out of his widow by what can only be described by a pikey and offered to me after much negotiation at circa 4k. Scared off by the prospect of de restoring it before restoring it stupid me turned it down and bought a very scabby elan sprint. Which I regret selling too!

not a classic, but I should have bought the Mrs an SLK when they were first announced, if she did like it there was a nice big fat premium on them early one :-)

And hey, it would have been cheaper than kids biglaugh
