What car is this ?

Just what you would expect to see the gamekeeper driving round the estate in NOT !!

If you do know for sure let if play for a while cos I like to see what people guess it to be.

Cheers

It's not a Scimitar, wrong shape hatch and there's a clue that it's an estate by the rear window length and the name of the photo

I wish I'd looked a bit harder now. The centre console has a Scimitar look about it but I bow to greater knowledge. Didn't even see the anagram of he original poster.

Its one of 2 ELAN "SPRINTS" ( 5 SPEED , BIG VALVE HEAD ) Converted i beleive under the guidance of Hexagon of Highgate ( who are Still around today ) .
One car was painted Dark Blue and was for sale in the late 70s in Rayleigh Essex at a Dealer on the High Street.

The idea never took off , probably due to cost, the Elan almost out of production and it wasnt a pretty looking car. The targetted market, was the Shooting/Fishing Brigade. Later nicknamed the Elan Bulance . Both cars still survive.

Re the 2 Over and Under Shotguns, ( nice engraveing ) i should know exactly who made them, as i grew up around guns. I beleive Holland and Holland may have had a tie in with The Elan-bulance .

.
! I was going to say that as I recognised the dash and steering wheel (my dad had a 130/5s+2) but then looking at the side windows they looked too high to be an Elan +2.

:geek: I love the original elan and will own one when I can afford one and have a garage to keep it in.

the whole cockpit pointed to the elan, even the seats and centre console. only wing mirrors struck me as odd and I wasnt sure about the stereo!
