Went there today, mainly to see the Dizzy Addicott Lotus 15, but was blown away by the cars there.

I don't think there's anyone left on 56K, but if there is, I hope they persevered...

I better add, that they are really friendly people there, and the place is defenietly worth a visit.
I know where i take my business next time i need some parts for my Europa.

Stunning collection there and the signs of a good business by an owner who's clearly a motivated petrol head smile

Europa T/C my favourite car for nearly four decades, and as much as I'd love one now it would be a step backwards in many ways from what I have now - my other favourite car since adulthood. I've been fortunate to have driven some nice stuff over the years, and some very fast stuff at that. It's a distant memory now but I'm fairly confident from my few drives in one, an Elan Sprint would still be a very very fast car and hard to better with a lot of modern performance stuff along the A and B roads of our fair land. Perhaps an Elan owner could confirm this, or am I seeing my past memory through rose tinted glasses?

I drove my first Westfield V8 from Paul Matty 25 years ago.

An outstanding car which gave me years of fun.

It was a good firm then and its better now. Exceptional collection of real sports cars. Obviously well run.

Sadly I can no longer fit into Westfield's but my Ginetta V8 is still fun and I fit in (JUST)

I have no connection personally with the firm I just like the approach.

Spent many a weekend in my youth looking at the cars for sale (never had the money to buy anything, but a good way to spend a Saturday afternnon!

Paul Matty and his wife drive their Lotus FJ 20/22 and 35 F2 with vigour, and always a great selection of cars in the Paul Matty Sports Cars Lotus Championship:

I sold my Elan SE Turbo to Paul Matty quite a few years ago (1997 I think). He was a good straight dealing guy with a massive knowledge of all things Lotus and a nice guy too.

What's the blue fastback coupe in the fourth from last picture? Is it an Elan based variant?!

Sold my JPS Europe to Paul in 1986, good cash deal as I was leaving the country, first dealt with him in the mid 70's when I had asprint and he had a small place on a trading estate in Dudley (Netherton I think), havn't been to his place since 2002, really enjoyed the picture, but how the showroom has grown.

Yep.

Type Ian Walker Elan into Google and all will be revealed.

I have been to Mattys dozens of times over the years and it really is a treasure trove. He manages to find the rarest and most immaculate historic Lotus cars.

My Esprit came from him ten years ago...

Thanks for reminding me that paul matty is so close to me in the midlands! I just made the mistake of checking out his website and then remembered how much I like Elan+2's. I might wander down for a look as some point before I leave the midlands

I had a nice chat with Dizzy Addicot once, when I owned my Mini Jem. Turns out he used pop into the local motor club at home quite a bit. He also flew the camera ship in the film Memphis Belle.

How old is Paul now?

He travelled across the midlands to view my '74 JPS Europa Special I was selling in the mid 80's. He walked away over a £100 difference between our values - a hard bargainer for a £100 or maybe he knew I shouldn't be selling smile.
I still look for them for sale and would have another Europa today.
