Cleaning 'Smiths' guages
Discussion
Hi Guys
I'm after a little advice on the best way to clean the face of traditional 'white on black' smiths guages without wiping off the numbers and details. Mine are off a 1976 TVR and whilst i could send them away for an expensive refurb, i'd prefer to do them myself.
I've got them stripped down and will be having the metal cases re-plated and re-paint the satin black bezzels along with general glass cleaning, but what would clean off the general grime off the face without lifting the numbers?
Thanks in advance
Paul

Thanks Lowdrag
I had a quotation from Speedy Cables to do a full refurb on them and the cost was too high for me to spend on non-critical parts, not far off the cost of new. The faces are all quite clean but justy have a film of light dirt and I may just have a go with a cotton bud with some soapy water.
Cheers
