Dear oh dear, what in heavens name! Guessing the poor fellow has health issues perhaps related to stress. Its the kindest way I could think of posting. Harmless enough until posting fictional financial stories, IDIOT.

Thats awful. Someone with the same log-in name as lowdrag pretends to know about Jaguars ... paperbag

Seriously, that's quite some car. A previously unknown D-type, owned by Hawthorn, with a supercharger and two (count 'em!) two fins at the back, now being restored in total secrecy in the UK...

Love it. I wodner if its a Scalextric D-type...

Or a FOSI special (figment of someones imagination)

Does anyone know what the penalty is for shooting trolls?

Worth it?

Mark.

Great isn't it smile

I'm no expert on Jaguars but my father owns and restored the ex-Hawthorn Lancia Aurelia WPD10, and has through various people met most of the surviving "Hawthorn" people. These stories of another Hawthorn car turning up never cease, although they become increasingly fanciful.

Hi there Lowdrag.

I had a look at the posts about the D type and something rang a bell. Do you remember the whole "Modified Madness" discussion you were invoved in on this forum back in July.

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Well the chap with the D type appeared on the Jaguar forum at around the same time and seemed to be very interested in finding out your address or meeting up with you, he asks quite a few times. I would say that he is the same person that you were having the argument with on this forum after he was exposed as a fraudster. His use of language and the construction of his posts are almost identical.

He along with his cohorts appeared to be a bunch of professional conmen and obviously did'nt like the way you were catching them out. The whole rediscovered D type story was obviously a ploy to lure you into passing on your contact details to who knows what ends.

Well that's my theory for what it's worth. Bunch of tossers all of them.

Know him well, great guy give him my regards. We shared corresspondance when I first started building my replica Hawthorn Mk1.Fantastic car WPD10 and a real credit he uses it as often as possible, as it should be. Racing green with all the Hawthorn spec, nardi gearchange and knobbly four spoke steering wheel still on the car, great stuff.
