The late Great and much missed Adam Faith badgered William Lyons to sell him an E-type and eventually he managed to get his hands on one, i beleive in late 1961. Apparently it was Grey,( metalic ? or Pearl maybe ? ) with Grey Trim and a Blue Hood, possibly not his colour choice, but they were in such demand it was take it or wait another year.

Adam was very fond of his E , but no photos of it appear to have survived. Apparently a photo of him an his then Girlfriend sitting in it appeared in one of the papers. He doesnt mention it in his book, but he had a terrible car crash in the early 70s , was it in his E ?

Anyone know any more ?

I'm sure there is at least one photo, because I've read that story before with an accompanying photo showing Adam as a young man with the E when new. It was in either Classic cars or Classic and sports car IIRC a couple of years ago. Sorry I can't be more specific, perhaps someone else recalls the article in more detail.

Mark.

I believe his crash was in a Granada.

The car crash was indeed in a Granada in August 1973 on a Friday evening. I remember it well as I stuffed a Granada backwards into a brick wall in Woolwich on the same day. His song "I Survive" from 1974 was about his accident.
