Jack Sears was awarded Honorary membership of The 289 Register at the NEC Classic Car Show, back in November. Spending about 3 hours on the stand, 'Gentleman' Jack chatted with each and every member of the Club, signing autographs and sharing the odd glass of Champagne

The 289 Register caters for owners of original Cobras, owners of replicas and enthusiasts alike.

I made a short film which was played on the stand over the weekend. It was my first attempt at producing a movie. A short version can be seen here on youtube:

I had a chat with a couple of the guys on the 289 Register stand on the Friday.
Very nice people. Happy to answer my dumb questions.

Hawk cars are the main UK manufacturers. They can supply replica cars, accurate in every detail. Their parts are completely interchangeable with original Cobra parts. In fact, Hawk Cars tend to keep most original Cobras competing in historical events. BRA were the other UK company, but I think the company has been out of production for some years now.

Across the pond, there are quite a few manufacturers. Kirkham, Unique Automotive,ERA to mention a few. It's probably best to enquire at www.clubcobra.com to get a full listing.

A very accurate 289FIA car was available from High Tech. I think the company was taken over by Superformance - now based in South Africa.
