What is the widest rubber I can get away with on a MGB GT with standard wings?

I've been looking at the following wheels but haven't had chance to do any measuring (I am 100% sure they wont fit)

What should I be looking at? Wider Minilites / Wolfies?

They will fit, but you'll have to do some serious inner wing / outer wing adaptions. Even the 7.5 J wheel requires a little work.

After that, it's down to personal choice. I prefer minilites over wolfrace, although the B I've inherited has got some godawful 1990s MGOC barry wheels on it. Which will be changed when finances can justify it.

7J wheels. 185/70 tyres. Or 195/65s if you go to 15". IIRC!

6" wide with the correct offset, without rolling the rims. I think the standard ones are 5.5".

This might also help you http://www.kouki.co.uk/utilities/visual-tyre-size-... – note at the bottom the Tyre Width Equivalency Table for tyre to wheel sizes

So many numbers, I'm sure I'll work it all out eventually!

Thanks for your helps, I'll see what I can work out from this and see if any such wheels exist

Sounds about right. 7J with carefully (subtle rolling and pulling the wings a bit).
