Scimitar SS1, although I'm not sure about the reliability or how much a decent one would cost.
Now this is an interesting suggestion, will do some research.http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/uvl/popup.jsp?cur...
Hi Caz,
Bit of a left feild suggestion, but what about a Fiat Barchetta? There is quite a nice one in the classifieds at the moment with low mileage, but it is on the Isle Of Man- good value though.
You can just about get a Lotus Elan M100 for £3k too
This GTM Rossa is my personal favourite though, even if it is a bit over budget. (if you fancy something completely unusual)- http://pistonheads.com/sales/2010739.htm
ETA- Where the hell did i get the £3k from?! haha. anyway, what is your aproximate budget?
and beaten to it on the barchetta- damn

TVR Wedge of some description?
Or are you looking for a daily reliable drive?
I've had my TVR 350I for ten months now, which I bought for £2,750.Or are you looking for a daily reliable drive?

It's my only car, used almost every day, and apart from some running repairs and some wear and tear fixes it's not let me down yet!

Wow I love the Rossa, only seen the Libra and Coupe, I didn't know they did others. This GTM Rossa is my personal favourite though, even if it is a bit over budget. (if you fancy something completely unusual)- http://pistonheads.com/sales/2010739.htm
The Elan is something I have also looked at, but the S1 is a bit underpowered, and I can't afford the S2. The M100 old ones are lovely, but probably too old to be within the reliability bracket really.

Alfa Spider? (models up to 1992/3 with the classic shape). Not sure if you'd get a good one for your budget.
You won't get the slightly preferable S4 for that (91-93) but you may get the S3 (1980's) for £3k at this time of year. Cracking car.MGF?
Alfa Spider 916, 1995 onwards?

Honda Insight Mk1 Only 250 in UK, quirky and 70-90mpg in standard form always turns heads and not as slow as you might think
I think I would have to join the green brigade and wear sandles if had this car, so nice suggestion out of left field, but a no from me here.caz_manc said:

MGF is a no just due to the always being in a garage as they are S**t.Alfa Spider 916, 1995 onwards?
Alfa, uhmmmm, I heard reliability is an issue. What does everyone else think?
Reliability on Spiders is fine....its the rust you need to worry about!
I drove an S4 Spider for 4 years as my daily, parked outside, didn't have anything more than usual maintenance issues (and a few obvious Italian electrical problems!)
