Hi all!

That's a very long time ago! My father has had a severe intracranial haemorrhage, so cars have shifted a bit to the background. He is recovering quite well and now and then, if my busy schedule permits, we sort out the pictures we want to print and put in our archives.

Yesterday, we came across this roadster. We thought it was an AC Ace, but after comparing the two, it looks different (grille is lower, different windshield and so forth). Now, I was hoping someone of you could tell us what car it is. Would be great!

UPDATE: might be an AC Ace however... You could order a curved windshield later in its life... But still, the number of bars in the grille seems to be less than that of the Ace's and it looks just lower...

SOLVED, thanks to 72twink! It is an AC Ace 2.6 (Ford Zephyr six-cylinder), one of only 37 or 46 (depending on the source) ever built between 1961 and 1963.

Thanks!
All the best,
Job

It's an AC Ace as you suspected, the curvy type grille with the moustache ends under the headlamps would be a Bristol engined car where as this example with a more Cobra style grille is a Zephyr 6 powered car. HTH

If it's the Zephyr powered one I think there were only about 37 made? Very valuable these days.

What that is, it's absolutely bloody gorgeous! I just love those proportions.

That's quite nice! We never saw a 2.6 Zephyr-engined Ace before! A very rare car indeed! thanks for the identification!

Yes, and I was offered a one owner identical car in red for £25,000 in 1989 but I was too into Jaguars.
