Morris Minor indicator problems!
Discussion
Ok, the indicators on my girlfriends Morris stopped working a couple of weeks ago. I had a snoop around and saw that the flasher unit had corroded through at the rear and was full of water, so i got a new one on order.
Skip forward a couple of days - New flasher unit through, fitted easily and indicators work again, however with the headlights on (the passenger side headlight has always been a bit dim - related?) the left had indicator stays on but pulsates slowly brighter and the light on the end of the stalk does not flash. The right indicator makes the stalk flash but only dimly.
Could this be caused by a poor earth, and if so where are the earthing points on a Morris minor so i can clean them up?

sounds like an earth issue to me, it could also be the dreaded lucas bullet connectors. I know all about the front indicators fixed the again just the other week, the earth is on the inner wing, via a self tapping screw. The bullet connectors are nearby and on the same bit of loom. the front ones suffer a lot and may need replacing. as for the rear I have never looked for the earth there as I have always fixed any light issues by playing with the wiring unde the bonnet.
I would definitely suspect the earths, I'd check the bulb earths in the front indicators first, but also of course the earth from the flasher unit - which might well be through the body of the unit and its mounting. Now there's a thought - is the replacement unit an exact original match, or a modern equivalent? If it's got a plastic body and the original was metal, there may be a need to have a separate earth?
..but all this might be complete nonsense, the last time I owned a Minor was in 1979 for about 6 months, and in those days I didn't have a clue about cars...

Put a photo up of the flasher units new and old
If the old unit has rusted thro' what about the holder as (I think, might be wrong) the holder earths the flasher unit (negative earth cars)
I've got a spare holder (if it's the right type) if you need it you can have it
Also be very careful about new flasher units sometimes s/h ones are better than poor quality new one - but - your problems sounds like earths (plural)
Check, clean, copperease/seal and renew connections and/or parts as required
