This year has been a bad one for me financially - I won't bore you with the details. If it had not been I would be buying this:

Cars of this era are right up my street. Look at the curves on the rear screen - lovely. Anyone with me?

No, I'm not feeling the love for this car that you obviously have, i don't like it, but i can at least see why/how someone could.

When these were current they seemed quite exotic, like a posh avant-garde Capri. I loved them then, time hasn't been too kind IMHO but still has a lot of appeal.

I guess rare, an oddity as well, but does that mean that spares are non-existent? The rear window resembles a Fuego, and I never liked those either. But I admire you for liking it; a poor world if we all thought the same.

Refreshingly different to the norm. (Not my sort of thing by any means).

If you like it, BUY IT - It'll make you more determined for the next financial struggle wink

I dont' see much appealing, sorry, but it caused me to remember that as a kid in the 80s I did like big curved glass like that - Porsche 944s, Mk1 RX7s...

I'm afraid that late 70s/early 80s Jap styling generally doesn't do it for me. Memories of growing up surrounded by horrible Datsun 120Ys, 180Bs, Toyota Coronas [shudder].

Yep, I'm with you, I think that looks great and will age well. The colour suits it too.

Cool, although I prefer the look of the Toyota Celica of the same period.

The first of my mates to pass his driving test nicked his mum's Sapporo and took us out for an Inbetweeners style Pussy Patrol around his village. I remember him getting the back end out on a couple mini-roundabouts.
I thought that car was unbeleivably exotic at the time.
Still like it too.

I'm a big fan of that, and the Starion, but compared to their contemporaries they're not a particularly inspiring drive. As others have said, it's the quirk factor that gives them the most appeal.

It's cool, it's been on Ebay for atleast a month so they may be willing to drop the price a little. If it's as good as the advert reads then it's probably worth the money. Shame it's an Auto..

I love the looks of those things, shame there are so few around now, I can't remember the last time I saw one.

When I was a kid and living in the west country, a bloke down my road had a silver one, which I always used to stare at as I walked by on my way to school.

He later swapped it for a white Lancer Turbo (the second shape, I think), must have been around 1983-ish, and that was just as, or maybe even more, mesmarizing to me at ten years old!

The Renault Fuego never did it for me either.

That's what I thought too; I drove one and it had a lovely, slick manual gearbox - one of the nicest I've ever used. As I recall, performance and handling aren't anything special but it does have a certain charm. The interior is great although that one deserves to have its original steering wheel put back and I think there was some sort of roof-mounted console - don't ask me what it was for but I'm sure there was something up there.

Not sure I'd ever buy one, but I can understand why you would.

Here is another similar car on Ebay that again has been for sale for atleast a month, this time at a more expected price. No idea on how the condition compares to the one in the first post but it still looks ace, even in yellow!
