As per the title - a lot of older British cars use the Lucas fusebox with just 2 (usually 35 amp) fuses to serve all the electric circuits.

Has anyone replaced it for a modern fusebox, with 6 or 8 blade-fuses, for ease of fault finding, and reliability ? I have recently bought an MGC-GT and I am thinking about doing this, and I just wondered about anyone else's experience ?
Thanks

Lots of people do. It's a reasonably easy swap, but make sure to use the correct coloured wire and clearly label the fuses in case you need to fault find at some point.

Thanks for the reply.

It's a balance between wanting to retain the originality of the car and reliability, isn't it...

My Healey has an original fuse block and has never blown a fuse. My only electrical additions are head light relays and a power socket which have inline fuses.
