MGB Performance parts
Discussion
The plan is to eventually buy another MGB engine upgrade it and then swap it into my B so that it can remain in use whilst upgrading another engine.
Can anyone recommend me a site to use for performances parts that lists prices etc online.
The usual sites I use don't supply performance parts and eBay only has a certain amount!
The plan is to bore (and sleeve) a block to 2 litre, fit a fast road cam, convert to electronic ignition, fit a tubular manifold, lighten(ed) flyheel, lighten crank and upgrade the head. (Thats the plan anyway! )

IIRC you can bore it to 1950 with out liners and then stoke it to 2100.
There is a very good book, cant remember the authors name, but its about performance tuning the B series, you can gain alot by small mods, like polishing ports and chambers and bulleting valve guides. I did all that on the 1800 I put in my old MGA, it went like stink!

Theres plenty of stuff out there. Why buy an engine & modify it?; there available off the shelf @ places like here >
http://www.oselli.com/services_mgb
http://www.skiptune.com/engines.html
Plenty info out there > http://www.mgparts.co.nz/performance.html
Is the author of forementioned book Peter Burgess? He has a page or 2 here > http://www.mgcars.org.uk/peterburgess/page8.html & his book can be had here > http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Power-Tune-MGB-4-Cylinder-En...
Google is your friend.
Personally I'm happy If my B just gets from A to B but with a decent lottery win I may join you.

I once drove a B with its engine enlarged and suspension upgrades and I in my personal opinion, to my style of driving and liking, I found the car horrible to drive
be careful not to take the car as a whole out of its balance from a pleasant sports tourer
I'm sure others will totally disagree and encourage you to put on beefed up, harder and lower suspension, bigger, wider wheels with thinner tyres, smaller steering wheel, ect., ect.
