Russian car at Thatcham in 2006
Discussion
Help needed in identifying this one. I know I should have written down the info but at the time was busy discussing the merits and downsides of our replica Model 'A'. I do remember the owner told me it was a Russion with a V8 engine that drank petrol.
Any ideas anyone?
One can just see the sloping back end of the car behind our old 'A'

Bloody 'ell - that was quick - ta lots. Looking at images, I see the info that it was air-cooled - that was the other bit of what the owner was telling me (which I had forgotten) blimey - an air-cooled V8 - no wonder it drank petrol.
Image pinched off the net of the engine in one of these beasts.

Mine wasn't particularly heavy on petrol considering it's a large-ish saloon from the 1960s, I think it would do about 22mpg on average. As the heater runs on petrol too, it depends how cold the weather is
