Was invited to the official opening as long as I took a decent car along. Here's the inside:-

The mounting of the motorcycles looks to be a bit on the flimsy side.
I imagine 200kilos of Harley falling on top of you might hurt a bit.

Lowdrag - off topic I'm afraid, but were you out and about on the Autoroute last Friday afternoon in a french-registered C-type? We were doing the dash up to the tunnel after a couple of weeks holiday and saw a lovely example on the A28/A16. Just wondered if, by chance, it was you.

Nope, not me I'm afraid. As you probably know, you'd have recognised my C-type because of its shape, and all the cars are on british plates still. I must admit I also try and avoid autoroutes with the classics. Not much fun at all.

I think part of the route I used to regularly drive from Geneva toward Grenoble would have been bags of fun in the XK. Not sure what would have been the "ideal" speed, but certainly well over the posted limit :-)
Don't know about the rest of France, Motorways in general are pretty boring, but there are a few interesting sections up in the Alps.
