Woodwork Restoration
Discussion
I've just bought a Mk2 Jaguar. The previous owner has "had a go" at the interior woodwork with disastous results as whatever product he applied has reacted badly with the original lacquer.
I believe the veneers are still good and I think I will attempt to refurbish the woodwork myself.
Any advice or information would be appreciated, particularly regarding the products required to give a factory finish, also a suitable paint stripper.

My father restored some of the woodwork on his Mk2 using an article from Practical Classics as a guide. It turned out just like it was straight from the factory. A James Young trained craftsman provided the information for the article.
I found the copy on ebay, Practical Classics January 1982. The article was under 'trim techniques' - 'Wood re-finishing'.

Good luck.
