Anybody got any ideas what to use as a heat sheet between an exhaust and a floor pan?. I'm thinking of some sort of thin sheet I can fix to the underside of the floor with screws to stop the heat of the exhaust melting the paint. The cars an Alfa Bertone GTV, they normally have a special heat shield between the two, but I'm too tight to pay the asking price, there must be something out there??.

Perhaps consider exhaust pipe wrapping or another heat resistant tape sold by www.vehicleproducts.co.uk

Use the asbestos plates off a couple of old ironing boards.

Frosts do a reflective/heat resistant sheet - I've used it under the wooden floor of mine and not noticed any heat coming through
