So I'm having a clearout of my accumulated vehicles and paraphernalia; the old Merc has gone, the VW van is awaiting fleaBay and nestling in the back of my workshop is another project I never started.

It's a 1963 pre-airflow Mk1 Cortina (or Consul as they were badged) Deluxe, 2 door in faded baby blue.
It's got history but no engine, I've got an original 4 speed box for it - quality unknown.

I bought it 6 years ago to convert to an FIA spec Lotus Cortina but never got round to having the time, funds or ability. So it really ought to go.
It's not a rot box, and was last used as a Goodwood Taxi back in 2004 (with a 1500 GT engine, but it does require work for an MOT.

But how the heck do I value it?

I was looking at a project on e-bay

And I mean project, although the shell was very good, it hadn't run for 15 years

It went for £2700

Gut feel is ~£1K. Prices obviously vary based on a number of factors but I sold my old two door '66 Mk I 1500 Supersport for £3K about five years ago. That was good but not fantastic condition, had running engine but no MOT. Consuls attract more then Cortinas, I think.
