A chance discussion over Dinner last Saturday led me to an invite to have look at private collection of superb cars kept in Barns at the owners property. They were - an AC Ace , an Aston DB4 , A Marcos ( late 60's ) fully race prepared , a 1931 BMW with an open body that had been fairly recently fitted, (the original saloon body is still around ) , a 1950 Humber Super Snipe Convertible with 50k on the clock ,a real ' Montgomery car '! Finally a Sunbeam Speed 20 , a magnificent beast that looked just like a Bentley 3 litre, ' Only faster ' ! according to the owner.

All the cars were on on 'The button' and started first time , all of them are used regularly and none of them have been polished or cleaned since the last time they were out on a run ! The Marcos was due to race at Castle Coombe last Sunday but had to be withdrawn because of a leaking master cylinder , which is why I was able to have look round , sorry I did not have a camera to show you all but it made my week-end .

I think you've misunderstood the concept of a 'barn find'. The term usually refers to cars that have been left untouched, neglected for years, not just cars stored in a barn.

Sounds like a lovely collection though. I'd be the guys new best friend...

Have a look at www.urbanlegendsonline.com and then enter "always check the barn" You will then see the barn find of the year.

I totaly understand the concept of Barn Finds but I got the same buzz opening the doors and seeing this lot as I would have done finding that lot in Portugal !!
