1984 911 carrera cab idling fault

I have a 1984 carrera cab which has a fault once the car has been driven andthe engine is hot if you let the ar idle it will cut out in under 30 seconds and will not restart until you have let it cool down for 20 / 30 mins anyone come across this one before??
