Hi

Once again this year I am organising an Italian Car and Bike day at Hopetoun House near Edinburgh on 15th August.

I want to have a Gandini / Bertone display and am looking for a Lancia Stratos and an Alfa Romeo Montreal to form part of the display or any other Gandini cars. Additionally I am hoping for a good turn out of classic Italian cars and bikes as well as moderns.

So far we have had quite a bit of interest but are looking for more. If people are coming along could they start a list or email me as we are trying to give Hopetoun a clear number in advance which helps plans additional catering/toilets etc

Our web site is:
www.italiancarandbikeday.co.uk

My contact details are
psantoni@btinternet.com
07831467360

This event is organised for fun, not profit

Does anyone on here have any classic or unusual Bertone designed cars and want to show these in Edinburgh at this event?

Not much good to you this year as in prep for paint but would be interested next year if you run the same sort of event. Have you contacted the Scotish section of the AROC? Good luck with your event. h.tindell@btinternet.com

It's a curious thing, the AROC Scottish section.

I'm a member of AROC, and I've never seen them post a single thing on the AROC forum, nor seen a single section report in the magazine. There seems to be more mention of the Scottish AROC section on here and on Alfaowner than on their own forum.

I can only guess it's down to some historic squabble. confused

Anyway, sorry for off-topic. redface

Back on-topic, as per my email I can't help with any Bertone cars.

Happy to bring my RZ again, and either the 159 SW or maybe the 147 Ducati Corse if it can be guaranteed safe passage through the real Ducati owners. hehe

Hi
AROC are meant to be supporting this show and have asked to have a stand at it which I have agreed to. I didnt see any postings for it on the AROC site but was told they were there? Have emailed someone about it today and asked again.

Very intersting what you say as we have kept AROC in the loop about this event since January

Please let me know if it appears as a full event under events and is being fully supported

The Alfa forum is run by Philip Suttie? I undestand that is seperate from AROC but they are supporting this event and have it fully listed as i understnad it

Bottom line, if you have an Alfa your welcome whether your in AROC or any forum or not!!

Just let me know!

I've found an entry here...

http://www.aroc-uk.com/news/diary.htm

...in the Cumbria & Borders are section, but nothing in the main Scotland section. C&B is a relatively new area section and Julie, who runs it, is great. smile

Anyway - I've added a post about it in the 'Events' section of the main AROC forum, with a link to http://www.italiancarandbikeday.co.uk

Cheers Jamie, yeah I think Julie has put it on that forum before too somewhere but its maybe slipped a bit!

I'm just an alfaowner scottish section rep Paul. smile

I've been told it will be put on the SAROC alfascot website and they have circulated the event to all members.

So they will be there!

The national AROC website main events section needs to be done by someone else so that has been requested now too.

Comments noted Philip.

Hopefully we will have a good turn out from the Alfa guys to celebrate their centenary

We have a web site hacking problem by those Russian Virus Scammers, should be resolved quickly. Please don't panic if log on as is scam to make people buy duff software. Trying to firewall it to keep them out again.

Hi there
Hopetoun charge £5 per car to get in so in short yes we all have to pay to have our car in front of the house. Doesnt matter how many people are in your car it is still £5. The public who are visiting pay £3.70 per adult and £2.20 per child. Compared to most other events eg Autoitalia the entry price is actually very low. All the money goes to Hopeton as I am making no money from the event!! So far cost me a fair bit
Sorry that was no clearer

Dont know the other marques numbers yet

could do with double that number! Come on guys; Edinburgh isn't that far away and great driving roads from the south to get up/accross!

Should have the web site back up tonight! I hope!
