Well, sad to say my unique (ie-only one in Europe) early Datsun 411 was stolen from outside my house this afternoon.

Its not got a radiator in it -away for a recore-so it'll not be driving far. A distinctive exhausttone makes mebelieve it was lorried awaywhilst footie was on.

If you happen to see it, do please give me or Littlehampton Police(who really arent very interested)a shout.

Thanks

Found, and retrieved safely.

Some damage- shredded tyre, missing battery & rear seat squab, chassis plate chiselled off, wrecked locksetc. All the stuff you'd kinda expect.

But I've got it back -and its repairable.

Cheers

Good news. I think I'd be tempted to fit a Tracker after that.

I nearly updated this thread myself when I read the good news on AS. I hope the idiot who did this knows how many people think he's a tt.

Keep up the good work Nigel..

glad to see you got this car back -

have the police told you what the guy who stole it was intending to do with the car?

The Police have been less than helpful.
When reported the civilian desk staff could barely be arsed to take details, scribbling brief details on the side of an old pad..

I was told it had been found by a 'friend' in Devon.

I heard nothing from the Police-until I trawled the local Police Stations for info.
I was finally given details of a PC 'dealing' - 15+ miles away, to whom I have never heard/spoken.

A civilian finally told me where it had been taken -and the towing/storage charges for all the time it sat there.

To date, I've had NO contact with the Police.
This car was recovered SOLELY through the efforts of members of several car
forums.

To them I say - a heartfelt THANKYOU.

Wow, I'm really glad to hear that posting on the forums made the difference - it's nice to know people do take notice of these threads and keep an eye out.

I don't understand why your car would have been a target in the first place? Good luck getting it repaired (and that the thieves get their comeuppance).
