I'm looking for thoughts on what paint to use on the floor pans, sills and chassis legs of my Alfa 2000GTV. I'd like to use something body coloured inside (Red) so I'm guessing I just go for normal Cellulose ( I can't use 2 pack and don't trust the water based stuff) on the inside over a decent primer, but what about underneath who recommends what?.

Also stone chip protection?, I tried using some of this on a previous project and it didn't go well. Any thoughts or recommendations?.

The car is not a garage queen and will be used hard in all weathers and all road surfaces (It's a rally car!)

May sound a little basic but i have used hammerite metal rust protection weather shield stuff on bits of my chassis. Applied with a brush but it seems to level itself out so you don't see any brush strokes or drips. After one year (after a wipe down) it looks just like the day i painted it and am very pleased. Not sure you will be able to get in in the right colour though. My car is black so i have no problem getting a colour that looks good.

Not too sure how this would take to the extremities of rallying though.

This stuff is better - it won't chip like hammerite.

I seen Por 15 on suspension components, it looks ideal for those, but large areas like floors might be a bit of a challenge perhaps?. I gather it's difficult to apply properly?
