Couple of nutters driving two classic cars between Royson and Bassingbourn today, one was a bright orange race prepped BMW 2002Ti and the other? it looked like an early Ferrari 212 crossed with a Maserati 1600 Zagato. It was a coupe with a large radiator and twin tailpipes at either rear wheel,

Sounds like something similar to an AC Aceca apart from the side pipes. You probably would have recognised an Aceca.

Yeah the Aceca was very similar but not quite the same, it had a narrow hump backed look with skinny wire wheels....sounded like a S6

Coincidently, I saw an orange BMW 2002 in Aylesbury yesterday lunch time (not track prepped.)!

Could your 'mystery' car have been an AC Greyhound (a better car IMO than an Aceca but worth a lot less money )?

Pound to a penny that'll be be the guys from Autostore nearby. The owner was heavily into ultra rare BMW's when I stored my car there and the customer cars were simply astounding..........
